IN DEFENSE ON IGNORANCE
I chose an episode from the broadcast This American Life and transformed the episode into a physical book design.
I chose episode 585: In Defense of Ignorance. In this episode, there are three stories from different people. The first act is about a Chinese family. A grandmother got cancer but their family hid the face that she was sick from her. During the event, her family hid their emotions. The second act is about psychology about ignorance, and the third act is about HSAM (Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory) perspective and non-HSAM perspectives. I used blind contour drawing. I chose it to directly express people feelings using lines that come from the unconscious mind. The visual idea is also used on the website and mobile app.
